Aanji Bimaadiziwn
Aanji Bimaadiziwn (A Changed Life) is a project for Indigenous based healing from sexual assault. Through this 29-month project, we are linking Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers, women and 2S people as mentors or mentees – to strengthen the GBV sector. We are addressing needs in rural/remote and diverse communities in a manner that recognizes the colonial impacts of gender-based violence and marginalization and provides strategies for trauma-informed and culturally relevant healing.
Mikhaela Antoine is working in the role of Project Coordinator.

Aanji Bimaadiziwin:
A Resource Guide to Support Sexual Assault Survivors
This is an Indigenous-led resource developed through Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services and shaped by the voices and experiences of women participating in the Aanji Bimaadiziwin Women's Sharing Circle. The guide was created to help survivors, advocates, and service providers navigate supports related to sexual violence, exploitation, safety, and healing. It brings together practical information and connections to services including sexual assault centres, crisis and helplines, healthcare and treatment services, shelters, legal and advocacy supports, child welfare navigation, and other wraparound resources. The guide is designed to support informed choice and connection to care. There is no required way to use it - readers are encouraged to move through the resource at their own pace and access the information that feels most useful to them.
Funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) 2023-2026.
